The watches you see belonged to my grandfather (left – with a new strap) and my father (right). They now belong to me. One day they will belong to one of my sons.
What is amazing to me is that these vintage watches still keep good time – even though they are wind-up watches. I find the precision stunning and now my modern, stylish Amazon purchased watches pale in comparison.
Call it substance over style.
Call it history over the latest trend.
Call it engaged faith over disengaged unbelief.
Precision injects balance into chaos – the core stands the test time to keep good time over the span of time.
And I will move this into our lives for a second (“second” – hah – no pun intended) with three questions:
1. How much delicateness does it take to refine the core of your life when it is not functioning optimally?
2. How tempting is it to look at surface level, “battery operated”, options?
3. Can you conceive of a spirituality and faith where the voice of G_D inspires you to look beyond quick-fix answers and sustains you while you delve into deeper questions?
Two Watches – sitting side by side – keeping equal time. From father to son to grandson.
I would be interested in hearing your thoughts.
Be blessed. Be a blessing.
